Referred to as the St.-Tropez of Turkey, Turkbuku is a fashionable
destination for Turkish celebrities, and fashionable society, attracted by
crystal clear waters, excellent seafood restaurants and sophisticated hotels.
Much of the seafood on offer in Turkbuku is caught by the fishermen who still
ply their trade from the traditional wooden jetties on the seafront.
Safely tucked in the surrounding hillsides on the west side of the bay and
sheltered by two islands, the village of Turkbuku is a natural haven for area
fishermen, who still operate from the many wooden jetties along the beachfront.
Further on, at the foot of the bay, the village of Golkoy occupies a verdant
green valley fronted by a long sandy beach with small pensions and restaurants
In the summer, be warned that the open air discos begin pounding their music at
midnight and continue until 4am. Sleeping may be a challenge.
