Turgutreis Turkey
The town of Turgutreis is named after a celebrated corsair who was born here. Turgut Reis also known as Dragut, was a 16th Century naval admiral who after taking Tripoli from the Knights of Malta, was killed during the seige of Malta in 1565. His bones lie in Tripoli but the village has a statue erected in his memory.
